Running gear repair

Ivory coloured steering wheel was damaged – such cracks were not repairable, it was needed to look for substitution.

Steering column was completely disassembled for inspection, defects detection and repair.

Flexible steering shaft joint was completely out of order – rubber inserts were disappeared.

Steering power unit had been working for a long period without maintenance.  All rubber parts and bearings should be replaced.

Main components of the steering gear still were in usable condition.

Front axle body and other components were received from powder coating workshop.

We received batch of new parts required for front axle assembling

We started assembling of the differential using new and restored components.

Some missing rubber components were preventing further assembling of the rear axle.

Ordered spare parts started to arrive from different suppliers.

Arrived batch of parts mainly intended for engine and running gear restoration.

Arrived parts from galvanizing and powder coating workshops.

Using new and restored parts intermediate support was assembled.

Restored steering column was preassembled.

We started assembling of the front axle using restored and new parts.

Steering column and power steering unit were assembled using new and restored parts.

New rubber items were used during assembling of the front axle.

Powersteering was assembled and installed onto engine test rig for tests.

Front axle was assembled using new and restored components.

Rear axle was prepared for installation as body arrives for assembling.

Wheels were cleaned in sand blast camera and sent for powder coating.

As per guidance we installed onto restored wheels previous tyres, which were washed before reaching the car.
