Workshop Progress Report: Exterior Moldings Restoration & Installation PhaseThe technical update covers exterior trim integration for the Mercedes-Benz 300SEL 6,3 w109 restoration project.This text will describe some photographs of the continue assembling the car. This week we installed the exterior moldings. Faced with scratched, anodized, long, and fragile mouldings unavailable for purchase, we devised an alternative restoration. This included chemical cleaning, aluminum mastic application, polishing, Cerakot varnish coating, vacuum metallization, and a final Cerakot layer. Following quality inspection inside the spray booth, the renewed trim strips were mounted onto the rocker panels and lower door sections using specialized retaining clips, successfully restoring the factory profile line.Photographs documenting this restoration process are located at: https://www.rmw.lv/page/en/mercedes-benz-300sel-63-w109-restoration-assembling-and-final-tests/
