The technical report details body alignment tasks for the Mercedes Benz 280SL w113 restoration project.
We made mistake during dismantling process and removed the rear trunk lid hinges with support torsions. Don`t do that! During the bodywork process it necessary adjust the trunk lid position and we need to reinstall these hinges back. The installation of these torsions is very interesting process. If you do not have special tool you can loose your fingers! To reengage the torsion bars safely without injury, technicians fabricated a custom lever tool to apply leverage, safely pre-tensioning the spring rods back onto their body mounts.
