Workshop Progress Report: Rear Axle Overhaul & Preparation Phase
The technical report details the mechanical progress for the Mercedes Benz 250SL w113 restoration project.
This week we removed, dismantled, inspected, repaired and assembled the rear axle. We prepared it for the installation on the car. The entire single-joint swing axle assembly was lowered from the body, placed on a service stand, and dismantled. Technicians inspected the wheel bearings, cleaned and greased the hub assemblies, adjusted the internal parking brake shoes, and serviced the ATE rear disc brake calipers.
Want to note that the task entrusted to us by the car owner is to repair and paint the body. Therefore, all removed parts are reinstalled without restoration, only repaired as necessary.
