Workshop Progress Report: Doors Dismantling & Inspection Phase
The technical report outlines the teardown and component assessment stage for the Shelby GT500 1967 restoration project.
We share the photos of the doors dismantling and inspection. Technicians systematically removed the interior door cards, brushed aluminum trim inserts, window crank handles, exterior chrome handles, and latch linkage rods. The side glass and front vent window assemblies were completely stripped, revealing localized corrosion on the lower window channel frames. Upon inspection, we discovered that the car retained its original finish and therefore during dismantling we will continue to meticulously document all these historical traces so that we can restore them and assist other restorers seeking to preserve this model's original appearance.
