Workshop Progress Report: Front Axle Overhaul & Preparation Phase
The technical report details the front suspension mechanical work for the Mercedes Benz 250SL w113 restoration project.
This week we removed, dismantled, inspected, repaired and assembled the front axle. We prepared it for the installation on the car. Technicians detached the front subframe crossmember, removed the disc brake calipers and pads, and stripped the wheel hubs to inspect the tapered roller bearings and spindles. Steering knuckles, kingpins, and control arm pivots were serviced, thoroughly lubricated through the grease fittings, and reassembled with secured castle nuts and cotter pins..

Want to note that the task entrusted to us by the car owner is to repair and paint the body. Therefore, all removed parts are reinstalled without restoration, only repaired as necessary.
