Running gear repair

For defect detection and compiling of required parts list, we started disassembling of chassis.

We removed powersteering main cylinder.

We removed front stabilizer bar – all rubber components needed replacement.

We dismantled steering system bars.

Dismantling front suspension we noticed, that one of front springs is broken.

We disconnected chassis lubrication and braking system pipes.

Now we could separate front suspension from chassis.

Disassembling rear suspension we noticed, that all rubber components are ageing damaged.

We separated rear axle from the chassis.

For defect detection and compiling of required parts list, we continued disassembling of the front suspension.

All rubber components were damaged because of ageing.

We checked all disassembled items, but shock dampers were left for further cleaning and defects detection.

One of the front suspension triangle leavers was bent.

It was necessary emplace bearings and seals of the front hubs.

In spite of installed centralized lubrication system, movable joints of the steering system were left without greasing.

Grease chamber of steering pivot was full with mud and corrosion products.

Needle bearings were destroyed by corrosion.

All adjacent components of steering system required replacement.

For defect detection and compiling of required parts list, we continued disassembling of the rear suspension removing shock dampers and spring blocks.

We removed rear stabilizer bars and damaged elastic attachments.

We dismantled rear half-axle shafts for bearing and sealing replacement.

We disassembled rear axle completely for restoration of structural components.

Crown wheel was still in acceptable condition.

Teeth of pinion were in acceptable condition as well.

We had to replace bearings and seals of the main gear.

We completely disassembled housing of the main gear for following powder coating of the external surface.

We disassembled rear spring blocks for defect detection and repair.

Leather gaiters of the rear springs were damaged, so springs were filled with mud.

Spring rubber inserts were worn out.

We had to replace worn out rear axle travel limiters made from rubber.

We disassembled steering linkage for defect detection and repair.

We had to replace all rubber components of the steering linkage.

Several pipes of the centralized greasing system were smashed.

We removed damaged pipes and self-fabricated necessary replacements, which were soldered into the place.

We disassembled power steering unit for defect detection and repair.

Worn out parts were attached to the list of required parts.

We disassembled power steering master cylinder for defect detection and repair.

Worn out parts were attached to the list of required parts.

We disassembled rear axle to replace seals and bearings.

For detailed inspection and repair we completely disassembled steering column.

Contact ring of the horn was worn out.

Damaged components we listed among items to order.

Wiring insulation was damaged and required replacing.

Arrived batch of powder-coated chassis components.

We removed worn out silentblocks before suspension components underwent powder-coating.

Current batch of components was sent to powder-coating.

We received current batch of galvanized fasteners and other components.

We disassembled propeller shaft for defects detection and repair.

In spite of poor maintenance, splines of the shaft were in acceptable condition.

Seal of the propeller shaft ball joint was damaged and did not protect bearings from dirt.

Cavity around bearings was full with mixture of grease and mud.

We completely disassembled and cleaned pin and trunnion joint for defects detection.

We ordered specific for Rolls-Royce and Bentley locking washers.

Rubber components of the central greasing system were inoperable.

We disassembled chassis lubrication pump for restoration.

It was necessary to replace greasing system filter.

We prepared for assembling restored chassis lubrication system reservoir.

We used new bearings assembling main gear.

We assembled and adjusted pinion.

We finished assembling and adjustment of the main gear.

We assembled restored chassis greasing pump.

We cleaned spring leafs before replacing of the bushes.

We painted spring leaves and inserted new bushes into the spring eyes.

We used new and restored parts assembling steering yokes.

We used new and restored parts assembling steering stub axles.

We used new pivot bearings for assembling.

New genuine sealing washers were used for assembling.

We attached restored front braking mechanisms to the stub axles.

We prepared for installation front stabilizer unit.

Rear axle was complete as rear wheels were attached.

We disassembled shock absorbers for repair.

Outworn parts were added to the list of required parts.

We used new and restored components for the assembling of the steering linkage components.

We used new and restored components for the assembling of the Powersteering ram.

We used new and restored components for the assembling of the steering system ball joints.

We attached restored components of the steering system to the chassis.

We delivered prepared housings of the shock absorbers to the powdercoating shop.

We used new and restored components for the assembling of the shock absorbers.
