Disassembly, defects detection and compiling parts list

For detailed inspection and defects detection, we started disassembling. First, we removed all trimming components from luggage compartment.

As rear seat was removed, we discovered remains of previous trimming – remains of red lather at the doorposts.

Under attachments of the front seats, we found remains of previous red carpeting.

Floor insulation layers were removed completely to provide access to floor pan inspection.

Insulation mats were removed from the firewall.

All components were inspected during disassembling.

One of passenger compartment illumination lamps was broken.

As insulation panels were removed we started dismantling of all wooden trimming items.

As doorstep chromed covers were removed rusty areas of the floor pan were discovered.

We removed rear windowsill to provide access to air conditioner air duct.

There was simply hewn out opening in the rear panel to accommodate outlet duct of the air conditioner.

We continued disassembling parting doors.

Wooden decorations were damaged by humidity.

In the luggage compartment, all removable components were dismantled.

All removed parts and components were shelved until further restoration works.

As we detached front wings, serious damages of bodywork became obvious.

We removed partly clogged ventilation system piping.

Components of ventilation system were damaged.

Sidewalls of engine compartment were removed.

We dismantled ancillaries mounted on the engine compartment sidewalls.

We continued dismantling of engine components as sidewalls were removed.

Disassembling of the dashboard, we started removing wooden fascia.

We disconnected gauges and control switches from the wiring harness.

We documented interconnection of components and placement of wiring.

We removed steering wheel.

We disassembled windscreen wiper mechanism and washer nozzles.

Front and rear screens were removed.

We removed remaining glued decorations of the body.

We started disassembling of the electrical system.

We dismantled components of various systems placed under the dashboard.

Most of ventilation system components still were in acceptable condition.

We removed insulation of firewall.

We continued disassembling of body removing items placed under the insulation layer.

We prepared front part of the body for separating from frame.

We disconnected fuel supply system.

We disconnected braking system components.

We detached heating and engine cooling system components.

As car was on the lift, it became obvious that most of body attachments were damaged.

We removed steering column.

We separated body from the frame.

We continued dismantling of various units still placed on the removed body.

Preparing body for the cleaning we removed all flexible plugs and grommets.

We removed exhaust system, which had been welded together in one piece.

For cleaning, we removed fuel tank.

Before further disassembling, we washed chassis to remove mud and oily residuals.

Whole surface of the frame was damaged by corrosion.  

We removed power steering pump.

Engine supports were worn out and damaged. 

We removed powerplant from the chassis.
