Dismantling, faults detection and parts listing

We start restoration project with detailed defect detection. First car is sent to specialized workshop to find a reason of inconsistent engine operation.

Before we start disassembly engine compression test is performed as well.

Dismantled gearbox is sent for diagnosis and repair to specialized workshop.

We start disassembly removing all interior decoration from passenger and luggage compartments. In the luggage compartment we see that additional anti-rust treatment has been applied over damaged surface and hasn't been for a help to stop further decaying of bodywork.

  Under interior trim we found several corrosion spots which shall be deeper investigated removing paintwork in these areas to assess size of damages.

Wheel arcs and lamp apertures shall undergo restoration course.

Welding spots of bumper support have rusted through and mechanism is separated from base plate which is founded in the plastic mass.

 Rrear window aperture is hheavily corroded. Around the windshield only areas around attachment screws are damaged.

Foam which is used for construction may create some fire safety problems during welding. Insulation has separated from the roof panel and needs to be fixed back.

 Aluminium trunk lid has several large-scale corrosion spot, but door structure, internal and external, has well resisted to chemical aggression.

 Window winding mechanisms are in working condition, but once repaired locking mechanism of the rear left door is again broken.

We sort, pack and put into storage all removed interior components until final assembling. 

First we start to remove paint in damaged areas, both misshapen and corrosion destroyed, to ascertain volume of damages.
