Actual report
The technical Mercedes Benz 190SL restoration at Riga Master Workshop has advanced to the internal painting phase. As documented in this week’s photographs, we have successfully applied the period-correct black DB180 finish to the interior structures of the body shell.
The process involved precision masking of the exterior surfaces to ensure clean lines before the application of the high-gloss protective coating. Technical attention was focused on achieving a uniform finish throughout the engine compartment, the entire trunk interior, and the main saloon area. This rigorous painting stage provides essential corrosion protection and creates the authentic foundation required for the upcoming mechanical and trim reassembly.
