Actual report
The Mercedes Benz 300SEL 3.5 W109 1972 restoration has reached a significant milestone in its structural bodywork. Following the restoration of the inner structural box, we have now installed the outer sill on the left side.
As documented in these technical photographs, the aftermarket outer sill required extensive modification. Because the replacement panel did not sitzen accurately against the original B-pillar and rear wheel arch profiles, our metalworkers meticulously cut and reshaped the steel to achieve a factory-perfect fit. This precision ensure that door gaps and body lines remain historically correct before final welding.
