Assembling and final tests

We received all initially ordered parts. New five whitewall tyres were delivered.

We started assembling by installation of steering gear.

Front axle housing was cleaned and repainted. As front axle was attached to the body assembling of whole steering system was completed as well.

Restored brake booster and new main cylinder were installed.

New insulation panel was attached to the firewall in the engine compartment. Restored expansion tank was returned to the place.

All new blanking caps and grommets were installed in the holes of firewall before engine compartment equipment installation started.

Through new grommets all electrical harnesses and piping were installed. Components of the electrical system, like fuse box among others, were returned to original positions.

 Engine was installed using new supports.

Engine was supplemented with automatic transmission and propeller shaft was connected.

Batch of parts returned from the chrome plating. Decoration assembling units were composed from separate parts. Assembled units were attached to the car - like rear view mirrors.

Installation of external trimming components at the rear end of the car was completed.

We started installing front end decorations attaching fresh painted radiator grille. Then front star and decorative front opening surround as well as bumpers were put into place.

Components located in the engine bay were connected to appropriate pipelines. Electric appliances were connected to the wire harness.

First exhaust manifold was connected to the motor carcass. Further we installed intake manifold and all connected fuel supply and injection system components.

It was finished installation of the all components of the braking system.

European style front headlamps were installed and connected to the wire harness.

Dashboard gauges were modified to ensure parameter readings in convenient for Continental Europe measuring system.

New white-stripe tyres were installed and balanced.

Worn out cabriolet roof were dismounted, roof frame was cleaned from glue residuals. Front crossbeam was glued over by new decorative cloth. New tension belts were installed. Roof shell installation we started with preliminary adjusting of the top to the particular frame carcass.

Radiator unit was installed in the engine compartment and connected to the appropriate systems.

 Finally aluminium decorations and chromed mouldings arrived. Also new interior wooden decoration components were delivered.

Using new parts windshield was installed and dashboard was completed. Installation of the cabriolet roof was finalized. New sealings of the cabriolet roof, as well as restored roof attachments were installed in place.

New rear lamp lenses were installed in place.

We finished installation of the restored engine compartment elements. All devices and components were filled up with corresponding liquids. We turned on restored engine and performed initial adjustments of various systems. We had first return ignition system to the original state before final adjustments may be finalized.  

Radio was completed with new front panel, as well as gearshift leaver got new white handle. Unfortunately testing radio operation we discovered that loudspeaker diaphragm was damaged so this appliance was ordered new.

Cardboard panel used as holder for fuel fume tank was moisture damaged and bent. It could not stay in dedicated place so we had to rivet aluminium stiffener plate on the backside to get it again functional.

Finally both missing ignition system ballast resistors were received. Long awaited reconditioned transistor unit was received and with no delay installed in dedicated place under the battery tray. Using received components initial layout of the ignition system was restored.

New hoses and pipe were produced to replace damaged ones restoring air conditioning system. At the pressure test it was discovered that shaft sealing leaks and this component was replaced. Restored compressor as received from cooling machine workshop was installed on the engine and car went back to specialized workshop for refilling.

New loudspeaker was received and installed in dashboard.

As component installation was finished engine hood was installed in place. Initial adjustments were carried out and we started our test drive program.
