Assembling and final tests
Dismantled chassis components were going to further detailed defect detection. Obviously left rear axle spring was broken. All rubber front axle suspension parts were damaged and scheduled for replacing. There was completely missing right hand wheel braking mechanism.
All components of the running gear and transmission were cleaned before painting or galvanizing.
Running gear and suspension components after repair were received from the powder coating and were waiting for new parts needed for recreation of assembling units.
We started front axle assembling using new and restored components. Axle housing was installed onto the rig facilitating convenient assembling.
Front suspension components were installed onto axle housing.
Wheel hubs were attached to the front axle assembling unit.
New brake discs were attached to the assembling unit.
Using new and restored parts propeller shaft was assembled.
We started main gear assembling using new and restored components.
Steering column was completely disassembled for defects detection. All needed (defective or missing) parts were included into the parts list.
Because of oil leakage steering gear was disassembled or repair. Steering gear housing was painted by powder coat.
All damaged tyres were scrapped and wheels after cleaning were sent to paintshop.
Rear axle was preassembled ready for installation.
Painted wheels were back from powder-coating shop.
Painted components were returned after painting.
As new tyres were received assembling and balancing of the wheels was completed.
Steering gear was assembled using new and restored components.
