Other components repair

Fuel tank was brought from the storage for inspection. Already removing cap it was obvious that substance left in the tank during parking period of the car had been aggressive and inner all surfaces were covered by thick layer of rust and some chemical reaction residuals.

All components made from alloys left in the tank were completely destroyed due to some chemical reaction. Strainer on the tap was full of mud and rust flakes.

All inner pipes located in the tank like the whole tank inner surface were heavily corroded. Unfortunately this tank was not salvageable.

Consignment with various used parts for restoration was received.

Heater unit was heavily damaged by corrosion and required restoration – it was taken into the pieces for defects detection.

Plastic air ducts were damaged and required restoration.

Each separated component of the heater unit was inspected and corresponding restoration course was decided.

Heater unit housing was completely destroyed by rust.

Received parcel with used components underwent defect detection and cleaning prior to following restoration actions.

Cooling system alloy components had severe corrosion damages which we had to restore before installation onto the engine.

Some of received cooing system components had even corrosion holes which had to be plugged by welding prior to installation.

New heater unit housing and cover plates were self fabricated and sent to powder coating.

Heater radiators were cleaned and tested on leakage before sending to the paint shop.

Wiper mechanism was disassembled and parts sent for galvanizing.

Heater control assembly unit was disassembled and components prepared for galvanizing.

Pedal unit was disassembled for defects detection and repair.

Heater fan motor got maintenance and was prepared for installation.

Rear side window mechanisms were disassembled for repair and re-plating of components.

Door window mechanisms were disassembled for repair and re-plating of components.

Window mechanisms were fresh galvanized.

Restored heater module was assembled.

We bought on auction missing ventilation and heating system components.

We bought missing ashtrays on auction and disassembled all acquired items for defects detection and repair.

Among acquired parts was also used plastic rail protecting rear cable in the luggage compartment.

Soft-top frame had serious corrosion damages and several broken elements. Just after cleaning in sand blast camera, we could see complete state of the structure.

Soft-top lock bolts were broken.

As side windows were installed and aligned, we installed broken soft-top frame for adjustment and repair.

First damaged components of folding top frame were removed for repair.

Broken pins were pressed out and brass welding was applied for restoration of hinges.

Restored pieces of mechanisms were returned to the roof structure.

As frame was recovered, received chromed decorations and rubber seals were installed ensuring precise adjustment for welding carcass frame.

Cabriolet roof frame was painted and delivered or assembling.

Precisely tailored new wooden components were fixed onto restored frame.

Our attempt to repair broken housing of steering wheel lock appeared unsuccessful – there was left not enough body to keep in place new locking pin guide tube.

New soft-top woods were too short for given structure so we had to attach missing material before cover layer was applied.

New exhaust for given model is not available on the market so old components were used as specimen manufacturing new piping.

Exhaust system was tailored using new mufflers and pipes.

We received recently bought windscreen washer pump mechanism and ordered parts necessary for assembling.

We disassembled for galvanizing windscreen washer pump mechanism.
