The technical reassembly phase of the Steyr Daimler Puch 230GE restoration has advanced with the installation of the external roof support structure. This week, our team focused on mounting the restored tubular frame, which serves as the primary skeleton for the soft-top roof system.
As shown in the photographs, individual components were pre-assembled and checked for alignment before being bolted to the reinforced body pick-up points. Technical attention was given to the integration of protective plastic bushings and secure hardware to ensure structural rigidity and prevent future vibration wear. This installation completes the upper body profile, allowing for the subsequent fitment of the canvas covering.
