The technical Mercedes Benz 280SL w113 restoration at Riga Master Workshop has progressed to a significant mechanical dismantling phase. This week, our team successfully removed the engine and transmission assembly to facilitate a comprehensive inspection and subsequent refurbishment.
Upon detailed examination of the engine bay and the block itself, we discovered that the car has remarkably retained its original factory finish in several areas. Consequently, we are meticulously documenting all historical traces, including original part labels, wiring routes, and factory markings. This rigorous technical logging ensures an authentic restoration and provides a precise baseline for other restorers dedicated to preserving the model's original appearance.
