Initial condition and work order

1.Initial condition.

Porsche 356B T6 was delivered to RMW together with a company cars returning from the exhibition TechoClassica Essen 2011. At the moment of delivery the car was in partly disassembled condition and according to the owner engine was not able to run.

As unloaded the car was brought to the workshop for initial visual inspection. Quite a lot of parts and components were not present on the car - among those were bumpers, external lighting devices, external decorations and handles. Supplied loose parts were taken out from the car and sorted as far as possible by function groups.

Interior of the car in general was complete.

Body identification plate was present and corresponded to given chassis number.

Seems body had been accident damaged and later carelessly repaired using excessively thick layer of filler - a lot of cracks and areas with split away paint at the rear of the car.

On the RHS there were visible imprints left after some accident.

On the both sides there were present filler and paintwork cracks signalling about too thick layer applied during body repair.

Paint and filler were separated from the body also on the top part of the front wings.

Both doorsteps were repaired using riveted-on several plates of different size.

Both headlamp bowls were rusted through at the bottom.

Engine seems complete and encouraged us to make needed checks for attempt to start it. Performed investigation we got confirmation that vehicle is still equipped with 6V electrical system so after some short rustle we got it running.

Rubber parts all over the car were destroyed.

Rear panel in the engine compartment was self-made replacement insert simply put instead of damaged and cut away body edge.

VIN numbers on the body and data plate were appropriate to the car documents, but confrontation with Kardex shows, that engine has been replaced on this car - present one is from another, around one year older, car.

Front inner wings had been repaired screwing on metal mends and hiding by thick resin layer.

Front box reinforcement profiles which are used as bumper attachment points on both sides were destroyed by rust.

Front wing attachment brackets were destroyed by rust - missing some sections on LHS and missing completely on RHS.

Dismantled parts were stored by function groups till further activities.
