Running gear repair

Disassembled re-usable running gear components were cleaned by sand blasting and sent to re-painting. Sensitive components were cleaned by glass beads before further surface treatment - galvanizing or painting.

Chassis and engine compartment components were received from powder painting.

Steering gearbox was assembled.

New bushings were pressed-in during assembling of the front axle. Front axle components were assembled together.

We continued restoration of the gearbox attaching both half axles. Using new brake cylinders and restored other components wheel braking mechanisms were assembled. Assembling of the rear axle unit was finished attaching restored brake drums to the half axle shafts.

Front wheel braking mechanisms were assembled waiting for the front axle further assembling.

Wheels arrived from coating and ready for installation of tyres, just cap springs are missing.

Stabilizer bar unit was assembled using restored and new parts.

Gearshift linkage was assembled using new and restored components.

Handbrake handle assembling unit was completed. Pedal assembling unit was pre-assembled from restored and new parts.

Steering column was completely disassembled and all parts were cleaned by steel pellets prior to painting. Steering column was assembled using new and restored components.

Necessary adjustments were done on the restored steering gear before installation.

Renovated steering gear was installed and connected to the steering system arms and rods.

As long awaited cargo with tubeless tyres and hubcap springs arrived assembling of wheels was completed. Tyres were balanced before installation.
