Trim components repair

Windscreen central spike was chromed screwed together with the nut, so we had to use specific methods to save this item during unscrewing of both chemically connected pieces.

We succeeded to disassemble spike without damaging bright work, though bottom end of the spike was left without chrome layer.

Re-plated parts were used for assembling of the door accessories.

Using available parts we assembled restored door outer handles.

Using available parts we assembled restored door inner handles.

Aluminium door binding rails for door trimmings were seriously damaged.

We carefully corrected shape of these profiles as these influence visual appearance of the doors after restoration.

Door upper garnish mouldings were re-plated, but broken studs left unrepaired.

We had to repair broken studs ensuring fresh chrome layer remains undamaged.

Restored decorations were attached to the doors for compatibility tests.

Edge profile for soft top fabric attachment had several damages in form of smashes and bents which we had to repair.

Reconstructed soft top edge profile was attached to the body for test.

We started assembling of the supplied soft top tension locks, but first we had to manufacture several missing components of the assemblies.

We preassembled restored soft-top tension locks.

We made necessary adjustments on the windshield posts ensuring adequate fit to door glasses and windshield frame.

We completed assembling of the windshield posts.

As chromed weather-strips and rubber seals were installed onto doorposts, necessary adjustments were done on door glasses.

We welded broken soft-top frame pivot and grinded weld seam.

We assembled renovated soft-top frame using re-plated fittings.

Chromed weather-strips were installed onto frame for compatibility test.

We fine-tuned and installed fresh rear wooden bow onto the soft-top frame.

New pillar wooden linings were incorrectly manufactured and did not fit to the window profile, so adjustments of the shape were required.

We made necessary scribes on the wooden parts for further processing.

We machined side pillar wooden linings ensuring compatibility to the door windows.

We installed weather-strips, seals and checked fit of re-fabricated wooden linings towards door windows.

We self-manufactured threaded plate missing in the structure of the soft-top front cross frame for installation of the top centre lock.

As all fixing components were installed into place, complete function and fit of whole soft-top structure was checked.

One more used sunvisor arrived serving as additional stock of missing for restoration parts.

We completed final assessment of available chromed decorations. Windshield frame and seat arms were in extremely poor condition.

Chromed profiles of the soft-top were damaged and required repair and re-plating.

Chromed components of the front star were damaged by corrosion and required re-plating.

Bumper components had both – mechanical and corrosion damages. Just one corner piece was in like-new condition.

All bumper horns additionally to corrosion had mechanical damages.

We repaired and e-shaped bumper parts before sending for re-plating.
