Initial condition and work order

190SL project car arrived to RMW partly repaired in disassembled condition.

Initial visual inspection revealed several corrosion holes which had been left without attention repairing body.

There were obvious corrosion sources left on the body – originally rust-prone headlamp housings were again damaged.

There were rust spots around all wheel openings.

Rust prone “eyebrows” were shoving penetrating corrosion signs.

For more detailed visual inspection car was bought to the lift. Rear wings had serious corrosion damages on the lover surfaces.

Side panels were presenting signs of penetrating corrosion. Coating shall be removed to assess nature of these damages.

Front panel had numerous corrosion damages along lower valance

Visually damaged and adjacent areas must be cleaned for assessment and corrosion protection works.

Similar corrosion damages requiring paint removal were noticed along all openings – doors, hood and luggage compartment lid.

Restoration plan of 1957 Mercedes Benz 190SL  1210427501926 project anticipates restoration of the bodywork and all components to the original state. Certain works on the project (body, engine, transmission, running gear) already have been partly carried out by the owner. Initial contract foreseen following tasks:
