1. Body repair

When the interior is released from seats and trim elements, we cut out the rusted floor parts and weld the new fragments.

 

After welding, new panel elements are primed and covered with special seem mastic.

 


After primer drying, paint and lay protective coating mastic.

 

Remove and prepare for plating the door locks and their adjustment spacers. Parts are sent to plating. Repaired parts are mounted into their places.

 

Restored and installed the door opening stops, replaced the door mount screws.

 

Produced and installed proper support for spare wheel holder.

 

Completed the alignment of dents on the doors on both sides preserving the existing paint.

 

2. Defect Detection and Spare Parts listing

Simultaneously with dismantling of interior components, we carry out their defect detection and complete a list of the parts to be ordered. Leather interior objects (seats, trim panels) are sent for restoration. Ordered leather of the chosen colour and with appropriate perforation.

 

Cabin equipment is dismantled in the technological sequence. Heating fan unit is dismantled; it is followed by the dismantling of the control panel elements to be restored. Radio, speedometer and tachometer are removed for further restoration. Clock is passed to clockmaker for repair.

Original spare parts are received in the due time and we can begin appropriate repairs of the body and running gear.

 

There is received carpet material, which will be used also to manufacture floor mats for luggage compartment, appropriate to the original one.

 

3. Interior trim restoration

Dashboard is completely dismantled because a number of restorable interior trim parts are mounted on the dashboard, but the interior comfort devices to be repaired are behind it. Thereafter the removed components are dismantled to state the defects.

 

To repair the heating system fan drive the ventilation unit is dismantled. Since the inflow air is not filtered, a lot of foreign objects were accumulated in the heating unit casing during the entire operation of the car that should be removed. 

 

Electric motor is dismantled, cleaned and lubricated. After testing of the operability, it is installed in the heating block. Necessary repairs of control switch are performed.

 

After removing the heating unit, becomes evident that one of the heating radiator‘s plates is broken off and felt into the heating fan unit. Heating radiator thus is dismantled, and the said plate after repair is fixed into place.

 

Dismounted conditioner unit is completely disassembled for repair of its components.

 

Air conditioner's fan is removed, disassembled, cleaned and its motor is oiled. Conditioner' s radiator is cleaned.

 

Air flow direction regulation grids of the conditioner unit are dismantled and prepared for the paint restoration. After painting, interior air conditioning unit is assembled.

 

Installation of the restored interior components is started. First are installed heater radiator and fan unit into the place, as well as air ducts under the dashboard.

 

New door glass seals on the doors and the windshield frame are installed.

 

Speedometer is converted to the metric system, replaced corroded trims around speedometer and tachometer.

 

Upon beginning of the leather upholstery restoration, door trim panels are made the first.

 

We have to fabricate missing fixing strip to fix the roof storage compartment lid trim because it is not available as a spare part.

 

Finally leather trim onto roof storage compartment is attached using our self-produced part.

 

There are received almost all leather interior trim components necessary for assembly.

 

It is received also delayed order of perforated leather needed for sewing of the central parts of the seat cushions and backrests. We use original coconut for authentic filling of the seats.

 

Leather is glued to the fixed body elements and we can start mounting of the dashboard and trimming elements.

 

Dashboard trimming parts behind the windscreen are installed into their places.

 

Door trim panels are fixed.

 

Dashboard wooden elements are placed into places.

 

Door handles including trimmings and chromed door decorations are again in place.

 

Lower trimmed part of the dashboard is in the place. Now air conditioner unit is attached underneath the dashboard.

 

New carpets are produced instead of damaged ones. We fix them into place according to the manufacturer's technology - some mats are glued, others - screwed or simply laid.

 

Ordered seats are received from tailor's workshop, lack of which delayed the faster completion of the works.

 

Seat installation completes the work on interior restoration

 

In order to increase comfort in the luggage compartment we fabricate and lay in carpet adequate to the trim.

 

Leather trim of the removable coupe roof is also restored, the roof is assembled and installed into place.

 

4. Running gear, engine and transmission repair

We begin repair of the running gear replacing all wheel bearings and appropriate seals.

 

All the shock absorbers are replaced, and brake and other systems elements are checked as well.

 

In the engine compartment we replace crankshaft front seal which was damaged during careless repair by the previous owner and which caused substantial oil leak.

 

Valve clearance adjustment is performed.

 

Upon completion of the adjustment work, cylinder head cover is installed using new rubber gasket.

 

All fluids and oils, as well as relevant filters including oil and filter for automatic gearbox, are replaced.

 

Restored car is again ready for wholesome operation. Works performed by RMW are endorsed by 2-year warranty.
