Disassembly, defects detection and compiling parts list

Vehicle was delivered to the workshop for restoration in driveable condition. All main components were present and in acceptable technical condition.

Numerous deep dents and scratches covered surface of the bumper decorations – our suggestion was replace these observable items after re-painting of the body.

We had to remove paintwork and underlay completely to avoid such kind of damages in the future.

For renovation of interior, we removed all trimming items of the passenger compartment.

Fastening elements of the decorations of the seat hinges were broken, so we had to replace these plastic pieces.

All body seals had damages caused by ageing and we planned for replacement.

Plastic pins of quick release clips of the sunvisors were cracked due to ageing and we had to replace those.

Trimming panels of the donors were damaged by humidity and infected by mildew, so we planned for replacement.

Under the layer of the insulation we found corrosion damages on floor panels – we should apply sand blasting to see condition of the metal in detail.

Interior trimming panels under the dash were completely broken so we planned for replacement.

Upper panel of the dashboard had numerous ageing cracks.

Flexible connection piece of the heater module was falling into pieces due to ageing.

Groove of the luggage compartment seal around the opening was heavily affected by corrosion – we had to apply sand blasting here to find out real condition of sheet metal.

We discovered heavily affected by corrosion area behind the carpet in the luggage compartment at the rear wall.

Reason for corrosion was poorly repaired accident damage – rear wall still was improperly bent facilitating ingress of water through slack seals of rear lamp and luggage compartment lid.

We removed heater fans gaining access for cleaning of radiators and replacing of damaged seals.

Flexible joint disc had countless cracks all around the body so we planned to replace this vital part of the transmission.

Rubber support cushions were falling into pieces due to ageing – we should replace those obviously.

We detached ancillaries of the motor, disconnected wiring and piping.

We removed powerplant for further defects detection and repairs freeing body for cleaning, repair and re-painting.

Nearby catalysts, on the engine compartment panels we discovered damages of the paintwork and melted insulation layer caused by excessive heat.

Both catalysts had broken attachment eyelets and cracks in the pipes allowing exhaust fumes enter engine compartment.
