The Mercedes Benz 300SEL 3.5 W109 1972 restoration has successfully completed the extensive cleaning phase. As documented in these photographs, the underside of the car body was meticulously stripped of its old rubberized rust protection layer. Subsequently, all outside panels, including the doors and fenders, had their surfaces carefully ground by hand, followed by sandblasting of the main body shell. This thorough process has successfully removed all old paint and rust, preparing the bare metal for the next critical stage: the detailed bodywork necessary for a Concours-level finish.
