Injection pump repair or restoration.

Injection pump repair or restoration.

If a complete overhaul of injection pump is required or desired, the work is usually very individual. They range from the replacement or repair of defective components to optical work such as glass bead blasting of the housing or galvanic treatment of the attachments.
A fully revised six-plunger injection pump. It was first dismantled and cleaned down to the last screw, and all individual parts were carefully checked for wear or damage. All housing parts were bead-blasted, the add-on parts were first brushed and then re-chromated in yellow. After assembly, the pump was set from scratch with high accuracy (tolerance halved).

Inspection of the injection pump and injection valves.
We take your pump and your injection valves to our test bench and carry out the following tests:
Checking the leakage oil lock depending on the pump type (oil dilution).
Function test of the start and stop magnet depending on the pump type.
Check the setting dimensions of the warm-up regulator.
      Check the idle stop.
Checking the uniform delivery of the individual pump elements.
Checking the delivery rates under selected load conditions.
The injectors are with regard to:
            Opening pressure,
            Spray pattern and
            Checked for leaks.

Adjusting an injection pump.
If the initial inspection shows that the injection pump is allright and only needs to be readjusted because, for example, the injection quantities vary over the pump elements or do not correspond to the test values, the work described below is carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications:
Check the maximum control rod travel
Removal of the spring capsule and zero setting of all adjusting screws
Presetting of the control springs via the control rod path
Setting the uniform delivery of the pump elements
      Setting the full load quantities
Setting the partial load quantities (including idling)
Depending on the type, if necessary, setting the start quantity
A test report documents the set values. The injection pump itself is "sealed" with locking varnish.
Modern test bench technology allows the accuracy of the uniform delivery of the pump elements to be doubled compared to the manufacturer's tolerance or the spread to be halved. If the height correction no longer works properly, to name just one example, one adjustment is no longer sufficient. The injection pump must be completely adjusted from scratch.

Complete adjustment of the injection pump.
A complete setting of the injection pump is necessary in any case if the adjusting lever on its shaft has been loosened and twisted or the height socket no longer works properly. The work to be carried out then also includes before the actual adjustment of the pump:
      Removing the controller
Set the feeler roller to the center of the space cam
Setting the translation / height correction
Check and if necessary adjust (as far as possible) the dimensions of the roller lever
      Setting the idle stop
Adjusting the adjusting lever on its shaft
Check and, if necessary, set the warm-up correction
The settings are recorded in the test report. After the subsequent adjustment of the injection pump, it is "sealed" with locking varnish.
