We received this vehicle in partly disassembled condition and it was not drivable. In spite of statement of previous owner that just brakes need some attention before car again drives, closer look revealed that serious restoration was required before this car hits road again.
Virtually any of body panels had some dints and scratches making main request of the new owner about salvage of original paint extremely challenging.
Additionally body panels in central and rear parts had severe corrosion damages.
All chromed parts had damages on certain extent. Exhaust system was attached to the body by rusty wire, but fuel tank was loaded into luggage compartment.
There was missing expensive to buy dashboard top trimming, as well as seat rails in the passenger compartment.
Engine compartment was almost completely furnished with necessary ancillaries, though presence of water in the motor oil signalled about serious problems we shall expect further.
We had to lift a car for more detailed inspection, but since floor and doorsteps were separated from the rest of the body, first we had to recover integrity of the superstructure.
We partly disassembled a car and prepared it for importunate welding jobs.
Removed parts were stored for further defects detection.
As floors and doorsteps were reconstructed, we put a car on the lift.
There was noticed serious leakage of the oils from engine, gearbox and rear axle.
All running gear rubber parts and joints were outworn.
We removed and washed off power plant for detailed inspection.
As engine was removed, we started detailed inspection of remaining in the engine compartment components.
Restoration contract of Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 *AR*373359* anticipated disassembling, complete restoration and assembling of the car, as far as possible preserving existing original components and parts.
