This is the last Cadillac with a V-16 engine. It looks very much like the 1939 V-16 but had a new instrument panel, taillights, and bumpers. New for 1940 was the introduction of sealed beam headlights and directional signal lights.
Three hundred fifteen were sold in the first year, 138 in the next. The production of the 1940 models ended in December 1939.
